Arma 2 OA Patch 1.60

I've now successfully updated the servers to use the latest 1.60 linux dedicated server build and have connected with my steam version of Arma 2 OA.

If you have any problems with getting Arma 2 OA patched or can't connect to the server, just let me know and I will check the server logs.

The BIS devs seem to be already on the case on a few minor issues with various versions, so all should be resovled soon!

Has anyone noticed changements?

My point of view:

- Linking to the server (joining) may be a bit faster
- Not much lagging
- AI better, shooting even wounded for the "final kill"
- Some light surfaces (sand hills... ) appear more "dusty"
- player and AI movements look more "smooth" to me

Memory Allocator Functions with 1.60..

I've tried this, but not seen a large change with the -malloc=tbb4malloc_bi option with the steam version you can set launch options in the properties section.

-nosplash is another useful option.

-winxp is supposed to also help with performance?

Re: Arma 2 OA Patch 1.60

I am using a launcher...
There is a window where one can edit parameters to start with...

If I want to use that -malloc=tbb4malloc_bi

Do I have to type it in with or without ".." that signs?

So:

1.) -malloc=tbb4malloc_bi

or

2.) "-malloc=tbb4malloc_bi"

Never used any parameters in my launcher...

+++

And... if I have a DuoCore... ist the "4" in the parameter correct?
Or does it need to be 2 instead?

So the options can be added after without quotes... so the Target in the shortcut might look something like..

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Arma\Arma2OA.exe" -nosplash -malloc=tbb4malloc_bi

where the first part in quotes is the location details of arma2/arma2oa
